Healthy Recipes and Tips

I became a vegetarian because the animal product industry has become so polluted, that the merchants could get rich, that eating meat and dairy from commercial sources is unhealthy. The meat is filled with tumors because hormones that cause the animal’s body, and our bodies when we eat their flesh, to over react. In the milk is blood and pus from the cow overproducing due to these growth hormones. As she swells with milk it stretches her to the point of bleeding inside, then she starts to heal causing pus only to start over again and again, poor things, with each twice a day milking process. We are forbidden to eat blood, Lev. 3:17.

The lifespan of vegetarians are 7 to 15 years longer than flesh-eaters. We can see this when we look at a genealogy chart of Adam through King David. Adam lived 930 years on the Eden diet, Noah 950. After the flood and the introduction of meat Noah’s son Shem only lived 600 years. Arphaxad live only 438 years reducing down to King David at only 70 years. We're talking a very short time span. In Exodus 15:26 the Most High Elohim promises not to let any of the diseases of the Egyptians come upon us if we obey Him.

What diseases did the Egyptians die from? Heart disease, cancers, etc. What was the healthy diet given in the book of Genesis? What did Daniel and his three friends eat that kept them so healthy? A vegetarian diet. Did our Blessed Savior give us flesh to eat? Yes, He did, but He also gave restrictions on how to eat it. It was not to be strangled as the heathen did because that kept the blood in the tissue. It was to be drained of blood, but the meat industry, unless kosher, does not drain the blood, as that is where the flavor is. Neither do they trim all of the fat away which we are commanded also not to eat. The life is in the blood and disease is in the fat.

His commands are not heavy unless they rub against our carnal natures. My favorite dishes before my surrender to Yahushua [Christ] were lobster (unclean), prawns (unclean) [both are savengers], prime rib, rare (almost bloody with lots of fat – unhealthy and forbidden) and nearly anything pork (unclean), to my shame and poor health. When I made the commitment to follow the Lamb of Yah [Ps. 68:4], blessed be His name, I surrendered my appetite also. Gradually He showed me the corrupt practices of the flesh industry and I could not stomach the products anymore. Praise His name. I have been vegetarian for about ten years now. Like Daniel and his three friends, my mind is sharper and I am healthier than I was before vegetarianism. And vegetarian cooking is cleaner, faster and easier. Praise His perfect ways!

Cleansing Flush

This cleansing flush is so simple and so healthy. Drink 1 glass of purified water with the fresh squeezed juice of 1 lemon at room temperature once a day for seven days.

Meanwhile, to really cleanse out your system the gentle, natural way you can follow these tips:

Don't eat or drink anything from a package, box, bottle or can! You can eat all of the fresh ORGANIC (NO PESTICIDES OR PRESERVATIVES) fruits and vegetables you want, only for seven days limit your bread intake to no more than 1 slice per day and eat it plain or toasted or spread only mashed fresh fruit on it. The bread should be organic whole wheat, preferably Ezekiel Bread [sprouted grains]. And no sweeteners or fats. After seven days I know you will feel a great improvement.

(It is important that nothing that has any chemicals at all enter our bodies while we are trying to flush out toxins…anytime for that matter.)

This cleansing program can be greatly increased by adding ORGANIC (fresh) juice. If you have a juicer; Wash 3-5 fresh carrots and 1 apple (if not sure if they are organic peel them) Remove the apple seeds Place apple and carrots through the juicer. Have this drink 30 min. before breakfast.

Wash and put through juicer,

1 leaf of red chard

2" wedge green pepper

1 small apple (seeds removed)

1-1 1/2"wedge of red cabbage

4-6 leaves romaine lettuce

Drink this drink 30 min. before dinner.

If you don't have a juicer you can purchase ORGANIC carrot juice at your health food store.

Taking the pulp from the juice makes it easier to digest and more vitamin content per volume gets into your system so you receive a boost of nutrients each day above what you would get with chewing alone the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables we require due to today’s depleted farm soil, polluted water and air.

The Messiah prayed, "Sanctify them through thy truth: Thy Word is truth" (John 17:17). If studied and obeyed, the Word of our Heavenly Father works in the heart, subduing every wicked attribute. The Set-apart Spirit comes to convict of sin and the faith that builds in the heart works by love to our Savior, conforming us, body, soul, and spirit, to His will. Let us do an earnest work of reform that must be done in our lives. Let us crucify self [Gal. 2:20]. Unholy habits will try to get the better of us, but in the name and through the power of Yahushua [Christ] we may conquer. To those who daily seeks to keep their heart with all diligence, the promise is given, "Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim, [our Mighty Ones, the Father, Son and Their Set-apart Spirit] which is in the Anointed One, Yahushua our Master, [Rom. 8:38, 39].

Vitamins and mineral are not always available in the foods purchased locally. For example a banana furnishes nearly all of these requirements. However, when, and it will, the “time of trouble” spoken of in Daniel 12:1 hits home it will be impossible for many to acquire bananas or anything other than what they can produce themselves. For those of us who would rather give up our lives than bow to satan, we know that the time is near at hand when; “no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Rev. 13:17 (KJV) So it is very important to be out of the cities on your own land and doing all in your power to grow your own food, including goats for milk only and chickens for eggs. This is not out of harmony with Scripture or with the writings of the inspired pen of Ellen White. She said that milk and eggs would not be as readily available as they were in her day. Her very last meals were the whites of egg for nourishment.

The following recipes are healthy and tasty.

Oatmeal Patties

[Even the flesh-eaters in my family love these cold or hot. They taste a little like fried chicken.]

2 cups oatmeal
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1cup potato water (boil a few potatoes, use the water)
1 egg or ¼ cup of flax seed gel
1 cup chopped onion (sautéed in Oma’s margarine)
3 tbsp. soy sauce substitute (*recipe follows)
4 tbsp. Chicken Seasoning (*recipe follows)

Mix the above ingredients, adding water if too dry, adding oatmeal if too wet. Drop by heaping tablespoons into skillet with olive oil. Cover and cook on low-medium heat, turning once until golden brown and crispy around the edges. Can be baked, instead, at 350 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

*Soy Sauce Substitute

2 cups organic vegetable broth

2 tsp. apple cider vinegar (malic acid healthy, other vinegars are harmful) or use

   lemon juice

1 tsp. molasses

1/8 tsp. ground ginger

Dash of garlic powder

Dash of onion powder

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan and boil uncovered until reduced to ½ cup. Store in refrigerator. Stir/shake before use.

*Chicken Seasoning

4 tsp. celery salt
4 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
4 tsp. parsley
1/4 cup salt
1 tsp. brown sugar

Just blend together. Can be used in many recipes to give a meaty taste.

Gravy

Blend together until smooth:

1 cup water and ½ cup [rinsed] raw cashews or  2 cups fresh goat milk
Add:

1 tsp. Bakon Hickory yeast
2 cups water [none if using goat milk]
2 Tbsp. cornstarch (non-genetically engineered)
1/2 tsp. sea salt
2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce Substitute or 1 Tbsp. *Chicken Seasoning and 1 tsp. Basil

Pour into a saucepan, stirring until thickened over medium heat. May add a sautéed onion for onion style gravy.

(Health Note: Bragg's Liquid Aminos is unfermented soy sauce, however, because of its structure it works in the system to destroy the connecting bridges of the brain. For this reason I use Soy Sauce Substitute. Also many products using corn include genetically engineered corn. For the Torah observant, this is forbidden because they insert swine DNA to the corn seed for crops. Swine is a scavenger and is unclean. If the product has corn, check the label for kosher signs or the wording "non-genetically engineered" on the package.) Enjoy a healthier and tasty gravy alternative to fatty, high cholesterol gravy or GMO products.

Cheese

Basic Cheese Recipe

2 ½ cups hot water

2 cups rinsed raw cashews or almonds

2 tsp. salt

2 tsp. onion powder

½ tsp. garlic powder

1-2 cloves fresh minced garlic

1-2 Tbsp. lemon juice

½ cup ground sesame seeds

Mix all ingredients until smooth then add:

5 tsp. Pomona Pectin + 1 tsp. Calcium (comes with it, mix as directed)

Sets as it chills.

Yellow Cheese – add 1 jar pimentos or seeded medium red bell pepper

Jalapeno Jack Cheese – add jalapeno pepper to taste

Nacho Cheese – add water to thin to consistency

Almond Joy Cookies

Many of us have a sweet tooth that needs attention One of my favorite, and of a grandson who is very particular what he eats, is what my grandchildren call Almond Joy Cookies. Very simple.

Mix together;

2 cups flour 2Tbsp. olive oil 3 cups shredded coconut 1/2 cup honey 3/4 cup water

Shape dough into almond joy sized oblong shapes and place on a greased cookie sheet. Press 2 whole almonds on top of each cookie and bake at 350 for 15 min. or until golden brown on the edges.

For the topping

Melt together in a double boiler;

1 1/2 cup sweetened carob chips, 2 Tbsp. natural almond butter, 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. Pero coffee substitute, 1 Tbsp. milk

Spread over baked, warm cookies. Allow to cool. Enjoy!

(Note: Carob is high in natural sugars; low in starch and fat. 3 Tbsp. Carob Powder with 2 Tbsp. water equal 1 square of chocolate. Chocolate and cocoa contain unhealthy caffeine, theobromine and have a high fat content. When coffee flavored Pero is added to the carob along with real vanilla it closely resembles the taste of chocolate. But please don't expect it to be the exact same taste. Almond butter is better than peanut butter because peanuts have a cancer causing ingredient called aflatoxin.)

For a vegan, (that is no animal products, but I eat small amounts of honey) a yummy cheesecake was a thing of the past...until I modified a recipe from a Cool Whip ad. High in sugar so eat sparingly and seldom.

Oma’s Margarine

In a blender until smooth, 2 tsp. Liquid Lecithin, 3 tsp. sea salt, 1 cup coconut butter, 1/4 tsp. toasted sesame seed oil, and 1 cup virgin olive oil. Slowly add 1 cup cold water and blend until smooth. Total time under one minute. Pour into two 2 cup containers and store in refrigerator up to one week. This margarine tastes like most store brands but without the harmful additives or chemicals, takes only seconds to make and the ingredients are actually healthy. I enjoy mixing a little honey with a spoonful of this margarine and spreading it on toast.

These are chewy and delicious!)

Carob Chip Cookies

Cream together;

1/4 cup olive oil (cold pressed, extra virgin is best) 3/4 cup applesauce 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup brown sugar (Suganut is best) Stir in; 1/2 cup chopped nuts 3/4 cup sweetened carob chips 1/2 cup shredded coconut 3/4 cup rolled oats (oatmeal)

Drop unto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 until brown, about 15 min.

Good Transitional Products

(Note: When I became a vegetarian I was very particular about taste and scoured the market for those non-dairy items that were the closest resemblance to my old favorites. The following is a list of what I found

Mayonnaise - Veganaise brand mayonnaise made with Grapeseed. (I like the flavor of the original Veganaise but it has milk by-products from cows (not healthy) and the grapeseed version has added health benefits. Canola Oil is used in many products on the market but canola has harmful properties and is very unhealthy.)

Cream Cheese – Follow Your Heart Cream-Cheese

Sausage Patties - (When I gave up pork I really missed my sausage McMuffins) Morningstar Farms vegan sausage patties are very similar, and their vegan corn dogs (flesh hotdogs are not fit for human consumption and contain swine's flesh ), and vegan wieners are very good. Their chicken-style nuggets and sausage links are also tasty.

Gardenburger brand puts out some very tasty and a wide variety of meat substitutes but I stopped buying them because of the New Age propaganda they do on the packaging.

Boca brand patties are excellent.

Sour Cream - IMO non-dairy taste more like dairy but Tofutti brand is good also.

Butter – Smart Balance Margarine is ok but check the label as they have some with animal products and canola oil.

Cheese - Of all the many brands of substitutes out there I prefer the taste of Rice Slice and Soy Station. These taste very close to dairy cheese and they work well melted in dishes or served cold.

If anyone is considering switching to a vegetarian life-style I hope these tips will help make the transition easier. They did for me and my husband. We have been vegetarian for about eleven years and as we learned more about what goes on in the food industry we became vegan about four years ago. Since then we have learned that properly raised and handled, goat milk will supply vitamins and minerals we can not find elsewhere. Herbs are for remedies not to be taken on a steady diet. Vitamin K is almost impossible to find other than in milk. Egg, clean goat milk and Nova Scotia Dulse will supply all of the bodies needs. Stock up on dried Dulse powder and use it instead of salt on salads, etc.

It is by His grace and His grace alone that I am blessed to bless you with this information. Yahushua, our Righteous Redeemer and Healer is so amazing to me I can't help but share with others what He has given me.

Continue to check back for added recipes and new understandings. As I experiment, and find good ones, by His grace, I will add recipes to the list.
