Which Master Do You Serve?

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Romans 6:16

[*The original names and/or titles have been restored. Ps. 68:4 tells us the true name of our Heavenly Father. And His Son was born a Jew in a Jewish community. Does it make sense that He would have a Greek [which they hated] name? No! Yahweh is our Ever Existing Heavenly Father. Yahushua is His Only-begotten Son, our Righteous Redeemer, who came in His Father’s name, Yah…u-shua = Yah Will Save. In the World Book Encyclopedia we are told that " ‘the LORD’ means Baal." The word ‘God’, like the other titles or names most often used in Christianity is pagan in origin and brought into Christianity by the Papacy, beast of Rev. 13. Elohim (Mighty Ones, see Gen. 1:26) is put back where the false title ‘God’ is used. In respect of the Most High, the true names, as close as is known today, will replace the false. In Ex. 23:13 we are told not to even mention the name of other mighty ones. And we are told to come out of false doctrine and practices, Rev. 18:4]

The word "obedience" comes from the Hebrew word "obed" which means "servant". No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve Elohim and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if Elohim so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the Kingdom of Elohim, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. [ Matthew 6:24-34]

By consenting to break one precept, men are brought under Satan's power. By substituting human law for *Elohim's law, Satan will seek to control the world . This work is foretold in prophecy. Of the great apostate power which is the representative of Satan, it is declared, "He shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws : and they shall be given into his hand." Dan. 7:25. {DA 763.1}

Men will surely set up their laws to counterwork the laws of *Elohim . They will seek to compel the consciences of others, and in their zeal to enforce these laws they will oppress their fellow men. {DA 763.2}

The warfare against *Elohim's law, which was begun in heaven, will be continued until the end of time. Every man will be tested. Obedience or disobedience is the question to be decided by the whole world. All will be called to choose between the law of *Elohim and the laws of men. Here the dividing line will be drawn. There will be but two classes . Every character will be fully developed; and all will show whether they have chosen the side of loyalty or that of rebellion. {DA 763.3}

Then the end will come. *Elohim will vindicate His law and deliver His people. Satan and all who have joined him in rebellion will be cut off. Sin and sinners will perish, root and branch, (Mal. 4:1),--Satan the root, and his followers the branches. The word will be fulfilled to the prince of evil, "Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of *Elohim; . . . I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. . . . Thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." Then "the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be;" "they shall be as though they had not been." Ezek. 28:6-19; Ps. 37:10; Obadiah 16. {DA 763.4}

How will our characters be changed? Will the Creator of the Universe just instantly change us? No! In a twinkling of an eye [our bodies] will be changed from perishable to imperishable [1 Cor. 15:51], but verse 50 says, ‘flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of Elohim; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.’ ‘But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;’ [1 Peter 1:15]

Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared; though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; and being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; [Hebrews 5:7-9]

He [Yahushua] is the ‘author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him.’ What did He author? The Ten Commands given to Moses. And all of the rest of His perfect instructions given in the statutes and judgements. By studying these instructions we come to understand His way of thinking. As a young couple will correspond through love letters, expressing their most inner thoughts to each other and so become one in thought and purpose, so it is with His ‘love letters’ [His Torah] to His children. When we learn of His perfect ways we begin to desire to be more like Him. And by the power of His Set-apart Spirit we become changed inwardly. If we reject His laws [Torah] we are in effect rejecting Him. When He comes in all His glory He will not change our characters, only our bodies.

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. [Rev. 22:11]

In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. Christ gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern the everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the ten commandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of Christ. They were to be binding upon man in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the moral law, and they clearly and definitely explained that law. {RH, May 6, 1875 par. 10}

The closing words of Malachi are a prophecy regarding the work that should be done preparatory to the first and the Second Advent of Christ . This prophecy is introduced with the admonition, " Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments . {SW, March 21, 1905 par. 1}

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of *Yahweh; and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." {SW, March 21, 1905 par. 2}

In what way will Elijah the prophet turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the children to their fathers? We believe ‘the fathers’ in this text refers to the ‘church fathers’, the prophets and the patriarchs, which turn us to His word, Torah.

Remember what the Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:28-29? Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the congregation of Elohim, which he hath purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

In 2 Thess. 2:7-21 we are told why this is allowed; For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom Yahushua shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth , that they might be saved. And for this cause Elohim shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie :

The angel’s message of Revelation 3:14-22 is telling the Laodicean Church that they are not rich and increased in goods [having all the knowledge and light they need], as they now think they are. But that they are, indeed, naked, poor and blind. That they are not immune to the deceptions of the enemy. The angel of Revelation 18:4 cries, ‘Come out of her My people that you do not partake of her sins’. But the self-righteous, Commandment-professing Laodicean Church says, ‘What sins are we partaking of?’ They do not, because they do not take heed of His Torah, instructions, understand how they are breaking His Ten Commandments.

*Yahushua is about to leave the mercy seat of the heavenly sanctuary , to put on garments of vengeance , and pour out His wrath in judgments upon those who have not responded to the light *Elohim has given them. " Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil." Ecclesiastes 8:11. Instead of being softened by the patience and long forbearance that *Yahweh has exercised toward them, those who fear not *Elohim and love not the truth, strengthen their hearts in their evil course. But there are limits even to the forbearance of *Elohim, and many are exceeding these boundaries. They have overrun the limits of grace, and therefore *Elohim must interfere and vindicate His honor. {CET 185.3}

Will you be ready for His return, my friend? Will you ‘Fear [take Him seriously] Elohim, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. [Rev. 14:7] Do you desire to receive His seal and not the mark of the beast? Then study His Torah [teachings], the love letters He gave us that are a ‘blueprint of His character, thus His will for us…for you.

Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? [Ezekiel 18:31] Say unto them, As I live, saith the Yahweh Elohim, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? [Ezekiel 33:11]
