Move Out of the Cities

…but Why???? You Might Ask

Are we as they that lived in Noah’s day were? Are we closing our eyes to the things taking place today as they closed their eyes to wild animals, predator and prey together, enter the Ark in an orderly fashion? Has the devastation of weather, world-wide, missed our notice? Are the wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24), as is Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Korea, Venezuela, etc., etc., also eluded our attention? What about the famines of Dufur, Korea, etc. and the pestilences of AIDS, Bird Flu, West Nile Virus, etc., have they also not registered as prophecy being fulfilled?

There is another prophecy which states: “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 (KJV) But are we willing to listen? In the 1800’s He gave the gift of prophecy to a frail young woman that was about to die of tuberculoses. She was slowly healed as she followed the information that He revealed to her concerning proper diet, and many lifestyle changes that modern man must make if we are to live healthy, happy lives. She lived to an old age and continued as His prophet until she died.

The things she wrote concerning the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, and the events of 9/11 and the disaster New Orleans are now history. But there are many things which are just now beginning to happen such as safe drinking water would need to come from bottles and that doctors only treat the symptoms but there is true healing in the natural things God has given us, home remedies readily available to everyone. Will we take notice and seek to learn more? Or will we continue to hide our proverbial heads in the sand while disaster rolls right over us and our loved ones?

We might say, “What is the use of knowing if it is going to happen anyway? What can I do about it?” Knowing that these events are prophecy can and should direct our attention to the One which gives those warnings to His messengers. When we turn to Him we will learn more about the warnings He has given because He “wants not one to be lost.” And from knowledge we will learn to trust in Him for our salvation. He said in Hosea 6:4: “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” He wants us to know. Because a time is coming, and indeed is already here, in that there will be no safe place and no one we can trust, except in Him, our Almighty Creator and Savior.

The following are some of the prophecies given to this woman over one hundred years ago:

The Original City Builders … Upon receiving the curse of God, Cain had withdrawn from his father's household. He had first chosen his occupation as a tiller of the soil, and he now founded a city, calling it after the name of his eldest son [Gen. 4:17]. He had gone out from the presence of the Lord, cast away the promise of the restored Eden, to seek his possessions and enjoyment in the earth under the curse of sin, thus standing at the head of that great class of men who worship the god of this world.

[Likewise] For a time the descendants of Noah continued to dwell among the mountains where the ark had rested. As their numbers increased, apostasy soon led to division. Those who desired to forget their Creator and to cast off the restraint of His law felt a constant annoyance from the teaching and example of their God-fearing associates, and after a time they decided to separate from the worshipers of God. Accordingly they journeyed to the plain of Shinar, on the banks of the river Euphrates. . . .

Here they decided to build a city, and in it a tower of such stupendous height as should render it the wonder of the world [Gen. 11:2-4].--PP 118, 119 (1890).

The Cities Are Hotbeds of Vice… The pursuit of pleasure and amusement centers in the cities. Many parents who choose a city home for their children, thinking to give them greater advantages, meet with disappointment, and too late repent their terrible mistake. The cities of today are fast becoming like Sodom and Gomorrah. The many holidays encourage idleness. The exciting sports--theater-going, horse-racing, gambling, liquor-drinking, and reveling--stimulate every passion to intense activity. The youth are swept away by the popular current.--COL 54 (1900).

Light has been given me that the cities will be filled with confusion, violence, and crime, and that these things will increase till the end of this earth's history.--7T 84 (1902).

The world over, cities are becoming hotbeds of vice. On every hand are the sights and sounds of evil. Everywhere are enticements to sensuality and dissipation.--MH 363 (1905).

Judgments Coming on the Cities …Terrible shocks will come upon the earth, and the lordly palaces erected at great expense will certainly become heaps of ruins.--3MR 312 (1891).

When God's restraining hand is removed, the destroyer begins his work. Then in our cities the greatest calamities will come.--3MR 314 (1897).

The Lord gives warnings to the inhabitants of the earth, as in the Chicago fire and the fires in Melbourne, London, and the city of New York.--Ms 127, 1897.

The end is near and every city is to be turned upside down every way. There will be confusion in every city. Everything that can be shaken is to be shaken and we do not know what will come next. The judgments will be according to the wickedness of the people and the light of truth that they have had.--1MR 248 (1902). [New Orleans was reported as one of the wickedest cities in our modern world.]

O that God's people had a sense of the impending destruction of thousands of cities, now almost given to idolatry.--Ev 29 (1903). [Idol worship of sports, money, power, sex, beauty, you name it!!]

The time is near when large cities will be swept away, and all should be warned of these coming judgments.--Ev 29 (1910).

Catastrophe-proof Buildings Will Become Ashes… I have seen the most costly structures in buildings erected and supposed to be fireproof, and just as Sodom perished in the flames of God's vengeance so will these proud structures become ashes. . . . The flattering monuments of men's greatness will be crumbled in the dust even before the last great destruction comes upon the world.--3SM 418 (1901). [Great examples; Oklahoma City Bombing, Twin Towers of 9/11.]

God is withdrawing His Spirit from the wicked cities, which have become as the cities of the antediluvian world and as Sodom and Gomorrah. . . . Costly mansions, marvels of architectural skill, will be destroyed without a moment's notice when the Lord sees that the owners have passed the boundaries of forgiveness. The destruction by fire of the stately buildings, supposed to be fireproof, is an illustration of how in a short time earth's architecture will lie in ruins.--TDG 152 (1902).

Men will continue to erect expensive buildings, costing millions of money. Special attention will be called to their architectural beauty and the firmness and solidity with which they are constructed, but the Lord has instructed me that despite the unusual firmness and expensive display, these buildings will share the fate of the temple in Jerusalem.--5BC 1098 (1906). [The Temple in Jerusalem, covered in pure gold, quickly burned to the ground. The only thing remaining is the outer Eastern Wall (the Wailing Wall) because the people of Jerusalem idol worshipped the law of God rather than the Giver of that law. They forgot the mercy of His law and became themselves ruthless and greedy.]

New York City…God has not executed His wrath without mercy. His hand is stretched out still. His message must be given in Greater New York. The people must be shown how it is possible for God, by a touch of His hand, to destroy the property they have gathered together against the last great day.--3MR 310, 311 (1902).

I have no light in particular in regard to what is coming on New York, only that I know that one day the great buildings there will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God's power. . . . Death will come in all places. This is why I am so anxious for our cities to be warned.--

On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. [Please remember that in her day buildings were no higher than the fire hoses could reach.] These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify their owners and builders. . . . [World Trade Center built by millionairs to rob the poor of their life savings gambling on the stock market.] Higher and still higher these buildings rose, and in them the most costly material was used. Those to whom these buildings belonged were not asking themselves: "How can we best glorify God?" The Lord was not in their thoughts.

As these lofty buildings went up, the owners rejoiced with ambitious pride that they had money to use in gratifying self and provoking the envy of their neighbors. Much of the money that they thus invested had been obtained through exaction, through grinding down the poor. They forgot that in heaven an account of every business transaction is kept; every unjust deal, every fraudulent act, is there recorded. The time is coming when in their fraud and insolence men will reach a point that the Lord will not permit them to pass, and they will learn that there is a limit to the forbearance of Jehovah.

The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fireproof buildings and said: "They are perfectly safe." But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.--9T 12, 13 (1909). [Do you remember the plight of the firemen at the site of the Twin Towers?]

Chicago and Los Angeles…Scenes that would soon take place in Chicago and other large cities also passed before me. As wickedness increased and the protecting power of God was withdrawn there were destructive winds and tempests. [Each year the wildfires, driven by great wind, destroy billions] of Southern California Buildings were destroyed by fire and shaken down by earthquakes. . . .  {LDE 113.3} [Is the fury of weather that has plagued the Mid-West (known as the Bible Belt that has left the instructions of the Bible for their own doctrines) and the East Coast, a precursor to more devastation?]

San Francisco and OaklandSan Francisco and Oakland are becoming as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Lord will visit them. Not far hence they will suffer under His judgments.--Ms 30, 1903. [Notice the date, 1903] [What is Berkley and San Francisco, in general, famous for, homosexuality, to say the least.]

The terrible earthquake that has visited San Francisco [THE SAN FRANCISCO EARTHQUAKE AND FIRE OF APRIL 18-19, 1906, LEFT 503 DEAD AND RESULTED IN AN ESTIMATED $350 MILLION IN PROPERTY DAMAGE.] will be followed by other manifestations of the power of God. His law has been transgressed. Cities have become polluted with sin. Study the history of Nineveh. God sent a special message by Jonah to that wicked city. . . . Many such messages as his would be given in our age, if the wicked cities would repent as did Nineveh.--Ms 61a, June 3, 1906.

Other Wicked Cities…As we near the close of this earth's history, we shall have the scenes of the San Francisco calamity repeated in other places. . . . These things make me feel very solemn because I know that the judgment day is right upon us. The judgments that have already come are a warning, but not the finishing, of the punishment that will come on wicked cities. . . .

[Hab. 2:1-20; Zeph. 1:1-3:20; Zech. 1:1-4:14; Mal. 1:1-4, quoted.] These scenes will soon be witnessed, just as they are clearly described. I present these wonderful statements from the Scriptures for the consideration of everyone. The prophecies recorded in the Old Testament are the word of the Lord for the last days, and will be fulfilled as surely as we have seen the desolation of San Francisco.--Letter 154, May 26, 1906. [If you are inclined to think that these events have not taken place and it has been over one hundred years, remember that with our Heavenly Father a day is like a thousand. This time span may seem long to us but is only a blink of an eye to Him. We are seeing these things occur today.]

I am bidden to declare the message that cities full of transgression, and sinful in the extreme, will be destroyed by earthquakes, by fire, by flood.--Ev 27 (April 27, 1906).  [San Francisco, New Orleans, only the beginning!]

All the warnings of Christ regarding the events that will occur near the close of this earth's history are now being fulfilled in our large cities. God is permitting these things to be brought to light that he who runs may read. The city of San Francisco is a sample of what the whole world is becoming. The wicked bribery, the misappropriation of means, the fraudulent transactions among men who have power to release the guilty and condemn the innocent--all this iniquity is filling other large cities of the earth and is making the world as it was in the days that were before the Flood.--Letter 230, 1907. [“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” Luke 17:26 (KJV)]

Her advice then was get out of the cities. Country life where you can grow your own food, raise your children in fresh air among the beauty of His creation, learning wholesome trades, and good work ethics is the way we were instructed. It’s not too late. Take heed and get out while you can. Soon tragedy will strike and the food supplies in stores will run out in less than three days. Transportation will come to a screeching halt and those who dwell in the cities will be trap as they were in New Orleans.

Get your children out in the fresh air and sunshine instead of in a stale room watching TV or playing computer games or worse! Teach them the science of nature and the moral instruction from His word, the Bible instead of letting the government teach them anti-family, anti-social and anti-truth.

Of ourselves we can do nothing to stem the tide of disaster that is ahead. But with Him “all things are possible for those who love Him.” Trust in the One who created you and you will live for an eternity in a new and wonderful world, if you allow Him to discard the ugly habits of this world and create in you a “new heart and a right spirit” of true love. He has promised us a canopy to shield us from the plaques and that when there is no water or food our food and water are sure. Trust Him, the Almighty Savior, Christ to who all authority has been given by His Father. Won’t you turn to Him right now, He waiting for you.
